This was a last minute decision to go to A.C. for the weekend (we live in Philly suburbs) It was my fiance & 13 year old son. The people at the desk were rude, I requested a non-smoking room with 2 double beds. I never got my confirmation email from them, so I called and the guy at the front desk (who hardly spoke English) told me to check for it in the morning. I told him we were checking in tonite, so that wouldn't be acceptable. Then he told me not to worry about it, there was plenty of vacancy. When we got there, he told me there was only 1 room available, even tho I confirmed my stay with a credit card. When we got to the room, there was one bed and lots of ashtrays! We are allergic to smoke hence the request for the non-smoking room. We had to cram 2 adults and a 13 year old into one bed. The light in the bathroom didn't work, and there were water stains on the ceiling from an obvious leak. The room smelled old and smoky and had it not been so late, we never would have stayed. I am planning on writing to Travelodge to see if I can get any of my money back. The next night we stayed at the Flagship Hotel with much more room, cleaner, ocean view and excellent customer service, on site pool, gym, restaurant, kid area, etc for only $10 more per nite! I'm about to write my next review on them. I paid $194 to stay at a slummy motel where there was a drunk guy asleep on a chair in his underwear right outside our door who was STILL there in the morning when we checked out and paid $204 a nite for club med.
